This privacy statement discloses what information the Holland Alumni network owned by Nuffic collects, how we use it and how to correct and change it. The policy applies to all the products, services and websites offered by the Holland Alumni network and its local networks in the countries with a Netherlands Education Support Office. This privacy policy may also apply to Holland Alumni networks to be established in the future of which you will be informed at a later time. |

Information we collect and how we use it |

We collect personal information through the registration process only. We do not sell or rent personal information to commercial parties or exchange or share personal information with commercial parties. |

a) We may collect the following types of information: |

Information you provide – By making an online or written registration for one of the websites of the Holland Alumni network, we ask you for personal information such as your name, email address and Dutch host institution(s), country of residence, date of birth, field of study, study start date, study end date, course type, scholarship, and work field.

User communications – We may use your email address for communication purposes. |
|
Third Party Applications – The Holland Alumni network may make available third-party applications, such as gadgets or extensions, through its services. The information collected by the Holland Alumni network when you enable a third-party application is processed under this Privacy Policy. Information collected by the third-party application provider is governed by the provider’s own privacy policy. Nuffic bears no responsibility or liability for information collected by third parties. |

Additional Services – In some cases we collect additional information for the purpose of offering career services or for event registration. We only collect this information after you give us explicit permission to use it. |

b) In addition to the above, we may use the information we collect to: |

provide, maintain, protect and improve our services and develop new services; |

inform you about news, new services and events; |

send out surveys for research purposes; |

protect the rights or property of the Holland Alumni network or of our users; |

research: tracer studies, impact evaluations of study programmes, events or scholarship programmes, website user surveys, and studies for determining the needs of alumni;

report to commissioning parties; |

facilitate mutual contact among alumni. |

If we use this information in a manner other than the purpose for which it was collected, we will ask for your consent prior to such use. |

Information sharing |

As a registered member of the Holland Alumni network you commit yourself to not disclosing any of the personal information that is provided by other alumni. |

We only share personal information with other organisations or individuals outside of the Holland Alumni network in the following limited circumstances: |

We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any additional personal information. |

iWe provide such information to our overseas offices, Dutch higher education institutions or affiliated organisations for the purpose of this personal information being processed on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security requirements. |

Information security |

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorised access to or unauthorised alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These measures include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and other security measures, including appropriate encryption and physical protection measures, to guard against unauthorised access to systems where we store personal data. |

We restrict access to personal information to Nuffic employees, contractors and agents who need to access that information in order to process it on our behalf. |

Accessing and updating personal information |

We act in good faith to provide you with access to your personal information and to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it does not otherwise need to be retained by law or for evaluation purposes. |

Unsubscribe from mailings
By registering, you agree to receive emails. In order to unsubscribe from our mailing list only while remaining registered in the Holland Alumni network database, please click here:

After you unsubscribe from our mailing list you will no longer receive mailings from the Holland Alumni network but you will continue to be able to log in to the Holland Alumni network and make use of its functions. |

After you unsubscribe your personal information will no longer be visible in the Holland Alumni network database nor will you receive any mailings or communications from the Holland Alumni network. |

Data storage |

The alumni data will not be stored any longer than is required for the purposes named under b) in the previous section. Because of the way we maintain certain services, residual copies may remain on our active servers for some time before they are deleted and they may remain in our backup systems following your unsubscribing from the Holland Alumni network. |

Changes to this Privacy Policy |
| |
Please note that this Privacy Policy may change from time to time within the framework of privacy legislation. We will post any changes to Privacy Policy on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide more prominent notification (including notification by email in the case of certain services). By continuing your subscription after notification of such changes, you consent to these changes. We will also keep prior versions of this Privacy Policy in an archive for your review. |
